Abstract: BACKGROUND: Steroid-induced osteonecrosis of the femoral head is difficult to be detected in the early stage, and the pathogenesis is not clear. Therefore, steroid-induced osteonecrosis of the femoral head is liable to be ignored and misses the best treatment time, resulting in a high disability rate in the late stage. Studies have shown that non-coding RNA is associated with the development of steroid-induced osteonecrosis of the femoral head. OBJECTIVE: To summarize the relevant literature worldwide and to review the regulatory mechanism of non-coding RNA expression on the pathogenesis of steroid-induced osteonecrosis of the femoral head, so as to further understand its pathogenesis.
