Abstract: BACKGROUND: Recent studies have revealed that Distal-less(Dlx) homeobox genes play an important role in the induction of osteogenic differentiation of odontogenic cells and can participate in the regulation of various osteogenic-related signaling pathways or affect the expression of key osteogenic transcription factors. The regulatory effects of Dlx genes may provide new ideas and methods for clinical periodontal tissue regeneration studies.
